I started my yoga journey in January 2011 and after many years of competitive dancing I found the medicine for my body that I needed. Yoga to me in the beginning was all about the asana (the physical practice). The movements, the stretching as well as the strengthening changed my body for the better. I found old areas of injury started to slowly heal. I found areas that were tight began to open up and the aches started to dissipate. About a year into my yoga path I started to become more present and in tune with myself. I realized that yoga wasn’t just about the asana. It is a way to live. I incorporated breath techniques as well as meditation into my practice and was intrigued by the ancient philosophy of yoga. In April of 2013 I completed my first teacher training in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga at the All Yoga Thailand School of Yoga. After one full year of teaching in studios I took my second teacher training in Foundational Vinyasa Yoga through the Uttara Vidya School of Yoga in Edmonton and completed this training in July 2014. With these two trainings I have moulded my classes to be a alignment based, but a dynamic vinyasa flow style of class. I love to create a fun environment to experiment with new poses and ensure my students leave with a smile on their face.
