My yoga journey began while I was dealing with a knee injury and was looking for an alternative form of exercise. After spending years running long distances, I was looking for something that would challenge me physically and would allow me greater flexibility. Yoga certainly checked off both of these boxes, but as I began to practice regularly I started to realize that yoga was much more that – it was positively affecting my life in so many other ways. I found myself wanting to know more about yoga and I signed up for my 200 hour yoga teacher training with Sara Cueva. During my yoga teacher training I discovered that what I really wanted to spend my life doing was sharing my love of yoga with others. What amazes and inspires me most about practicing yoga is that the journey is never finished and there is always a new way to challenge ourselves. I hold a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy and I seek to incorporate my knowledge of anatomy and movement of the body into my classes. I never imagined that my life would bring me to a place where I have the opportunity to teach yoga, but I am so grateful that it did and that I get to share this journey with my students.
